okay so ya obviously institutions like the US Military should be criticized more and blamed rather than individuals, and obviously the military isn’t going to be abolished by just people not joining it, but what’s with this obsession with telling people in US occupied places that they shouldnt hate soldiers? soldiers are there voluntarily, they’re the ones who are pulling the trigger, dropping the bombs, who are raping & torturing civilians, who kill innocent people for sport, who are paid to do this, why the obsession with telling people not to hate them and painting them as victims?
In countries like Korea, Japan and the Philippines, sexual assault and rape reporting statistics are higher near and around US military bases per capita than others. They cluster near the bases.
It’s an epidemic. Not only do they bring military occupation and geopolitical tension to neighbouring countries, but they regularly rape and exercise violence on local women. They do this shit everyday, to native residents, til the point where sexual assault against civilians is a norm, a climate that exists near and around US military towns.
Like, tell me more bout your precious US soldiers. It angers me how in US narratives the army/individual soldiers are considered holy institutions never to be criticized.
